Can I just say I have the biggest straight girl mom crush on Angelina Jolie? She’s the mom I think I’d be if I had enough money to turn my kids into little world-weary jet setters. We’ve only taken P. to a few countries – and poor Bo doesn’t even have a passport yet – but every time I’ve walked through immigration wearing all black, my big prescription sunglasses, and carrying a little one I’ve felt very… Jolie.
So when she finally announced her engagement to Brad Pitt I was like OMG. When it came to light that there’d be a wedding soonish I was like OMG. Then Angelina Jolie’s publicist announced that she and Pitt had tied the knot and I was like OMG. And then People/Hello! released the first images of Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress and I was like…
What are you looking at, exactly? People has the deets:
Luigi Massi, the master tailor at Atelier Versace, sewed dozens of designs from her children’s drawings into the dress and veil. “Luigi is like family to me and I couldn’t imagine anyone else making this dress,” says Jolie. “He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together.” Pitt wore a suit from his closet – with a tie borrowed from one of his sons because Pitt forgot to pack his. Zahara’s dress was designed by family friend Adama Kebe. Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, and Knox wore black suits (Shiloh’s included shorts and a top hat), and Vivienne wore a white dress from her closet.
I’d love to know if you are as in love with this dress as I am. Because maybe I’m just a little biased. Angelina Jolie IS my mom crush, after all. And I happen to be sporting a tattoo of my daughter’s 4-year-old artwork so I’m totally down with the idea of embroidering kids’ scribbling on a wedding gown. I think it’s a lovely sentimental way of turning a wedding dress into something more.
What’s your take?
